I\u2019m a stress eater. And as an entrepreneur who runs multiple business channels, there\u2019s never a shortage of stress. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

If you have ever gained weight in your life, you know the feeling when you realize it\u2019s gone too far. You feel heavy, your clothes feel too tight, you feel tired and sluggish\u2014even a little sick. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

I was feeling this way not too long ago. I decided it was time to make some changes for my health, but I needed to face the truth first. I had to know exactly how much weight I gained in order to figure out the plan to lose it. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

If I\u2019m going to change, I thought to myself, I have to step on the scale. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Once I found out the truth, I got the MyFitnessPal app to track how many calories I was eating. I was eating well over 3,000 calories a day when I needed to be eating around 1,800 for steady weight loss. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

My point in telling you all that is that I didn\u2019t jump right from knowing I needed to make a change to being changed and healthy over time. It took a few steps. I faced the <\/span>truth<\/span><\/b>, I became <\/span>aware<\/span><\/b> of where I was and what I needed to do, then I took <\/span>responsibility<\/span><\/b> for making the changes, and had the <\/span>courage<\/span><\/b> to continue to do the work\u2014even when it was challenging.  <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

When I first start working with clients, they often expect me to dive straight into the numbers. But before we talk about money, we have to face the truth of where they are starting. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

That\u2019s the foundation of the TARC framework, or the four cornerstones to financial greatness, that I\u2019ve used for decades to help families live with meaning and purpose: Truth. Awareness. Responsibility. Courage.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

These four words have the power to change not only your financial life, but your relationships, your health, and your sense of fulfillment. Let me show you how.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Truth: Tell the Real Story<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/h4>\n

You can\u2019t change what you won\u2019t face. Truth is about being radically honest\u2014with yourself and with others\u2014about where you are right now. I couldn\u2019t improve my health and change my weight until I faced the truth on the scale. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

When I was doing financial workshops in East L.A., above a seafood restaurant called Boca de Le\u00f3n, I once asked a man to rate his marriage on a scale of 1 to 10. He proudly said, \u201cI\u2019m a 10!\u201d His wife, sitting next to him, gave him a 4. The husband would come home from work and hand over his entire paycheck to her, thinking that was all she wanted from him. So, he was shocked. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

He looked at her and said, \u201cWhat do you mean?\u201d<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

She replied, \u201cYou work all day, you drink beer with your friends, and you come home the next morning too tired to talk to us. You\u2019re never really here.\u201d<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

That moment hit hard. His truth wasn\u2019t her truth. She didn\u2019t just want him to pay the bills, she wanted to spend time with him. And until he faced that gap, nothing would change.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Truth forces you to look in the mirror. It\u2019s not about guilt or shame; it\u2019s about clarity. Because you can\u2019t build a plan\u2014financial or personal\u2014on illusions.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Awareness: See the Gap<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/h4>\n

Once you\u2019ve faced the truth, awareness is about understanding where you are compared to where you want to be.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

That\u2019s the gap, and you can\u2019t close it until you can see it clearly.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

I ask clients to write things down: their goals, their values, their ideal vision for health, relationships, or purpose. Writing makes it real.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Somebody once said, \u201cIf you want it to be real, you\u2019ve got to write it down.\u201d<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Ask yourself questions like:<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
